Our Story

Why Xamos Lamos Exists

I have a master's degree and I'm pursuing professional qualifications. I've spent years studying, building skills and working in my field.

And yet, when I started trying to build the career I actually wanted in Kerala, I found myself sending 200 applications to get 2 offers.

That made me question something.

We spend years preparing ourselves for education. We spend even more years completing degrees, qualifications and courses. But when it comes to entering the world of work, we're often left to figure things out ourselves.

What does this career actually involve?
What skills do I really need?
What should I study?
Where can I get experience?
Where are the opportunities?
And eventually — what should I do next?

There is plenty of information available. But it is scattered across careers, courses, colleges, companies, job portals and countless websites.

The problem isn't simply a lack of information.

The connection between education and work is weak.

That's where I believe Xamos Lamos can help.

Xamos Lamos is a bridge between education and work.

We want young people to understand the world of work, experience possible careers, connect those careers to education, skills and experience, and eventually navigate their way towards meaningful employment.

A student shouldn't have to choose a career simply because they've heard of it.

They should be able to see it, understand it, try it and then decide.

And when they decide, they should be able to see what comes next.

Career → Education → Skills → Experience → Opportunity

That's the journey Xamos Lamos wants to help connect.

How we're building it

I don't know exactly what that bridge will look like yet.

And I don't want to build it based only on what I think students need.

I want to build it by listening to the people who are actually crossing it — students, parents, educators, professionals and organisations.

Because the gap between education and work is something many of us eventually experience. Xamos Lamos exists to make that journey a little clearer.
